Financial Controller
Middlesex Aerospace is seeking to appoint a Financial Controller for the effective management of the Finances and Finance Department including, Payroll, Financial and Management Accounts.
This is an exciting opening to join a successful aerospace manufacturing company. Middlesex Aerospace is 80 years old in March 2025 and has a strong reputation for quality and excellence in manufacturing complex assemblies and other products.
You will be working alongside a highly skilled and dedicated team, committed to developing and implementing best practice purchasing techniques and supply chain philosophies. You will report directly to the CEO. The role will require 24 hours per week, which can be spread across several days. Some flexibility may be needed depending on the workload. While there is potential for hybrid working, it is anticipated that regular attendance on-site will be required.
Role
- Manage the Finance Department to ensure all financial transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all Financial Reporting deadlines are achieved.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and analysis to support effective management of the business.
- Preparation of Business Performance Review information
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows.
Ensure submission of all tax returns within relevant deadlines. - Preparation of annual statutory accounts for external audit.
- Manage the company insurance policies.
- Management of the defined benefit and defined contribution Schemes.
- Support finance employees in their quest for continual improvement.
- Manage the company insurance policies.
- Support of Company Initiatives for Continuous Improvement.
- Ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear and understood for the finance team.
What you will bring
- CCAB qualified and have a wide range of experience across all accounting disciplines and strong experience in cashflow management and manufacturing accounting.
- Experience of accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong cost controls – essential as the market in which the Company operates is highly competitive.
- Competent on Microsoft office products, particularly Excel and Word.
- Previous use of Javelin/ERP systems
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Confident and competent in dealing with staff at all levels.
- Methodical approach to work with good attention to accuracy and detail.
